COVID-19 3/23/20 Update

Aloha Clarke & Associates Ohana!

Due  to the fast-changing conditions with the COVID-19 pandemic and  accompanying government response, we have made the decision to  temporarily close our office location effective 3-25-20. We WILL still  be providing essential services to our existing clients such as  bookkeeping, payroll, general excise taxes, and income tax services, but  for the safety of our staff and clients we have made the decision to  conduct all business via phone or digitally for the time being unless  absolutely necessary but within social distancing guidelines, until the  current risks subside.
Our staff may be working on-location from time to time as they are able,  but we ask that you respect their safety and phone/email with any  questions or transactions instead of driving to our office.

We also want to share the very exciting news that Hawaii has finally  extended the state corporate and individual income tax deadline to July  20th, in response to the extended federal deadline of July 15th which  was announced last week. These changes do not affect any other state tax  deadlines, unless specifically announced by the state. Here is some  more information regarding the federal and state income tax deadline  changes:

Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions, and we will  keep you informed to the best of our ability as changes and decisions  are announced.

We remain committed to helping the businesses and families of Hawaii  navigate this difficult season through the services we provide. Thank  you for being part of our ohana, and we look forward to continuing to  serve you through the days to come.

Sincerely,
David N. Clarke, CPA

Are you making changes?

Although the State income tax deadline has been extended,  all other state tax deadlines remain unchanged at this time, including  GE and TA tax.

Please let us know if you anticipate any changes during this  time-including changes to payroll, payment schedules, etc.

  • Do you anticipate downsizing your  staff for a season? Do you have any questions about the processes to  follow, or resources for your downsized staff?
  • Do you have any regularly scheduled payments which may need to be adjusted for now?
  • Do you need to make any changes to your accounts  receivable department? (online payment methods, payment terms, etc.)

If you have made the difficult decision to downsize your staff, here are some resources which may help them during this time:

COVID-19 3/18/20 Update

Aloha Clarke & Associates Ohana!

As you are all aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is having a significant  effect on our nation and on our local community. We at Clarke &  Associates are taking steps to ensure ongoing operation and reliable  service if the public health responses to COVID‑19 are elevated. Our  concern is not merely to continue to operate, but also to safeguard both  our staff, and you as our customers through this time.  We have  confirmed that the IRS just released an extended income tax deadline of  July 15th, and we are awaiting the State of Hawaii’s response to follow  the deadline.

In order to minimize risk to our customers and employees, the Clarke  & Associates office will be temporarily closed for public access  starting Thursday, March 19, in order to increase social distancing as  recommended by state and federal health officials. We will reassess the  situation over the coming week to determine if it is safe and prudent to  resume normal office operations on Monday, March 30.

Although our office will be closed for public access, we will continue  to perform all of our regular payroll, bookkeeping and tax return  functions, and deliver the same high level of service that you have come  to know and trust.  During this time, we will be relying on the  following procedures and tools in order to deliver the work and services  that you need:

  • Documents should be delivered to our office by Email, Fax or Postal Service whenever possible.
  • Meetings with Dave may be conducted by phone, or by video conference from the security of your home.
  • Payments may be made securely online, over the phone or by mail.
  • We will primarily be delivering documents to you by secure email and USPS mail.
  • You  may still drop off documents and payments or pick up documents at the  office when strictly necessary, but please note that we are practicing  social distancing. For the safety of our staff and customers, please do  not enter the office if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness  (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, etc), or if you have had any  contact with a confirmed infection of COVID-19.

For more information or instructions on how to use any of these services please call our office at 808-331-8150, or email office@clarkeassociateshawaii.com

Clarke & Associates understands that the COVID‑19 situation may  cause hardship in various ways for our customers. We want you to know  that we are on the job, and our top priority is providing safe and  reliable service to you. Please stay safe!

Sincerely,

Your Clarke & Associates Ohana
